Application Process

Each year, approximately 200 transfer students enroll at Bentley. Most transfers (about 150 students) enter the college in the fall semester, with the rest entering for the spring semester. Students are encouraged to apply for either option depending upon your academic schedule and aspirations.

Students choosing to apply for the fall semester should send in their transfer application no later than May 1. To be considered for January admission, the deadline is November 15. Regardless of when you apply, a visit to campus is always encouraged so you can see our campus in action and experience firsthand our high-tech facilities and tight-knit campus community. 

Transfer applications are reviewed by the Admission Committee shortly before the admission deadline.  Decisions are rendered on a rolling basis soon after an application becomes complete. Applicants are encouraged to submit the required credentials and information as soon as possible, in order to ensure a timely review of their application.

The Transfer application requirements include:

  • Transfer admission application, with fee: We accept either the Bentley application or the Common Application with a Bentley supplement. Since both applications are reviewed with the same weight, we encourage you to complete the application that is most convenient for you.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended
  • Official final transcript: from high school with date of graduation
  • Mid-Semester Progress Report: if not currently enrolled in college courses, this form is not required
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: preferably from professors; an employer reference is acceptable in lieu of one of the professor recommendations
  • Official SAT or ACT with Writing results: the SAT is required for transfer applicants who have taken fewer than 10 U.S. college courses; it is recommended that scores be submitted by all applicants who have taken the SAT or ACT exams
  • Transfer Statement: brief essay explaining your interest in Bentley and your reason for applying as a transfer student
  • Official Test of Eng Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results: if English is not your primary language
  • Certificate of Financial Resources form: for non-U.S. citizens
