First Steps in Requesting/Building a Departmental Web Site
The general process for developing a departmental web site is as follows:
- E-mail Web Services with your request.
- A meeting takes place with a web services staff member and the PageMaster to discuss the outline of the site. Brainstorming is also done about the purpose and layout of the site.
- A flowchart of the site is created and sent to the PageMaster for approval.
- Once the flowchart is reviewed and approved by the PageMaster, a site template is built by web services.
- A training date is coordinated with the PageMaster (who will be contacted by a representative from client services). The PageMaster receives the site's template at their training session, as well as the WS_FTP username and password (for server access).
New PageMaster for Existing Site
When a new PageMaster is assigned to an existing site, the department or organization head (chair, director, etc.) simply needs to send an email to the helpdeskadmin@bentley.edu with the new PageMasters name and phone extension. All PageMasters need to be permanent Bentley faculty or staff.
