Your resume is one of the most effective tools you have in your personal marketing toolkit and we offer a variety of services to assist you with your resume preparation.
Building an Effective Resume Workshop
In these interactive workshops that are held throughout the year, you will learn to:
- Design a resume that gets you interviews
- Develop and incorporate “summary statements” and “results statements” that will strengthen your resume and distinguish you from other candidates
- Analyze your resume as viewed by employers and technological screening software
Workshop participants are eligible to attend a Resume Clinic and receive one-on-one feedback from a recruiter or resume preparer.
Upcoming Class Dates and Registration. Classes are free of charge to Bentley alumni. Non-alumni can participate for a nominal fee.
Alumni Resume Guide
The Bentley Alumni Resume Guide is free of charge. The guide provides a template, a sample resume and suggestions for preparing summary and accomplishment statements, which are the two most critical aspects of your resume.
Professional Resume Writing Resources
If you would like to hire a professional resume writer to edit or write your resume, below are two approved resources we recommend to alumni.
- The Resume Writer – Susan McCarthy designs resumes for upper management executives, mid-career professionals as well as recent college graduates, career-changers, and self-employed entrepreneurs.
- Helene Lauer – provides resume development including updating a previous resume, introducing results-oriented accomplishments, identifying transferrable skills and handling gaps in employment.
