The Player:

A 6-6 athletic forward who adds more fire power to the team's perimeter arsenal ... a good open shooter who draws opponents' forwards away from the basket ... quick, rangy and aggressive to compete on both backboards ... excellent fit for team's transition game as he covers floor with speed and stamina ... outstanding quickness to defend on the perimeter ... capable shot blocker as well.

2005-06 Season:

Averaged 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds while playing 15 minutes a game ... made two starts and came off the bench 27 times ... shot 43 percent overall, up from 36 percent as a sophomore ... was team's top frontcourt reserve ... third on team in offensive rebounds (50) ... had a very good postseason, making 13 of 16 FGA (.813) and averaging 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and two blocks ... scored in double figure six times with a high of 15 vs. AIC Jan. 10 ... in the NE-10 playoffs, had 14 points, season-best nine rebounds and three blocks against Merrimack Feb. 27 and 13 points, six rebounds and two blocks vs. Saint Anselm three days later ... had a .655 field goal percentage in his last six games.

2004-05 Season:

Averaged 4.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 games off the bench ... missed most of the month of February following appendicitis ... saved his best for last, hitting five three-pointers en route to 17 points in the NCAA regional final vs. Bryant ... also had career-best 12 rebounds for first career double-double ... his regular season scoring high of 12 points also came against Bryant on Jan. 6 ... scored 30 points in 33 minutes during a three-game stretch Nov. 20-28.

2003-04 Season:

Appeared in 20 games, with one start, at St. Bonaventure University ... averaged 9.7 minutes, 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds ... scored a season-high 10 points in 18 minutes in collegiate debut, a 78-76 win over Robert Morris Nov. 21 ... also had nine points, without missing a shot, in a win over Arkansas-Little Rock Nov. 25 ... had six rebounds against Creighton Nov. 29 and two blocks against Syracuse Dec. 3.

Before College:

Spent senior year at Kerr-Vance Academy in Henderson, N.C. ... averaged 24.8 points, 11.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists, and knocked down 42 percent of his three-pointers, for one of the top-ranked 2A prep teams in the state ... helped Kerr-Vance to the state semifinals and a 21-6 record ... was named to the Class 2A Prep All-State first-team for the second straight year, and was named regional player of the year by the Henderson Daily Dispatch ... attended Gaston Day School, also in N.C., as a junior, his first year in this country ... helped Gaston to a 25-4 record and a berth in the state final game ... before coming to the U.S.A., was a member of several English junior national teams, including an under-16 club that toured Scotland, France, Hungary and Portugal.

Business ethics major ... born March 8, 1984 ... son of Pat and Joyce Smith ... has a twin brother Carl, who served in the British Army in Iraq ... was born and raised in England before coming to the U.S. for his final two years of high school.
